A few months ago, on a spur of the moment trip to the local plant nursery, we picked up some carrot, sweet corn and onion seedlings. We had a bare spot in the garden and thought "why not?", lets try our hand at some new veggies!
We harvested lots of fabulous onions!
Some rather interesting carrots!
Some lovely corn (which Boo insisted on 'unwrapping' immediately)
All in all it was a successful afternoon!
My favourite part was watching the amazement in Boo's eyes as we dug up the carrots and onions. I am so pleased we are raising a child who knows that veggies come from the garden...not the supermarket. I hope that he (and his sister) will remember days like this fondly and continue growing veggies with their own children.
